Dip your toes into a family favourite that’s loved by all – ten pin bowling! The rules are simple: knock down the most pins to win. It doesn’t matter how you bowl – just steer clear of the gutters and avoid stepping over the foul line!
Each game consists of ten frames, and every player gets two throws (preferably bowls!) per frame to rack up points, with a cheeky bonus bowl on the last frame to boost your chances of winning. Knock down all ten pins in a single bowl for a strike, or take your time and build your score frame by frame. Bowling isn’t just about points – it’s about big laughs and bragging rights!
You’ll be glad to hear that at Star Pins you can wear your own shoes! Heels are not permitted on the lanes, and we do also have shoes available at the service desk.
Our bowling balls range in both weight and grip size. So believe us when we say there’s a ball for every bowler! Whichever you pick, make sure it’s one you can lift and swing comfortably.
Take four steps back from the bowling line. Hold the ball out in front of you on the first step towards the bowling line. Then, take two more steps forward whilst swining your ball behind you. Finally, swing forwards and release the ball along the lane and towards the pins. Strike! Well, hopefully…
Sorry to state the obvious, but the better your aim, the more pins you’ll knock down. When releasing the ball, do not just aim for the middle pin! What you should be aiming for is the middle arrow on the lane…Trust us on that one.
